We mourn the passing of someone who, neither aspiring for nor even wanting it, became the greatest and most beloved Filipino woman who ever lived.

On a more personal note, I believe that she truly was a great heroine, one of the very few contemporary ones we had. Though I disagree with some of her recent acts and statements, it never degraded her in my perception; she is a hero and will always be one, no matter what happens.
Godspeed, Corazon Aquino. May you finally rest in peace and rejoin your husband in Heaven.
